| Entrance Hall
This is where the Sorting Hat and Cannon Character Applications are. So enter through the double oak front doors which open into a large, cavernous room, lit by torches, with ceiling so high it's barely visible. As soon as you enter the Entrance Hall you can see the wide marble staircase which takes you the first floor. On the left is a door leading to a smaller antechamber where First Years wait to be sorted.

| Great Hall
The great hall consists of a large room with four large tables and one large table at the front of the room.The great hall is the room where the students and staff of Hogwarts dine. Balls and Ceremonies are held here also.

| Dungeons |
| Potions Classroom
Potions class is located in the dark, cold dungeons of Hogwarts. The Professor teaches the art of potion by making their students memorize various ingredients and compositions of certain potions, prepare them, then walk around and criticize his students' work. The Professor also assigns long and detailed essays on the properties of different potion ingredients.

| Dungeon Corridor
This is a dark and gloomy corridor. You have to pass by it to get to the potions lesson.

The Hogwarts Kitchens are located right next door from the Great Hall. Hundreds of house elves work here to provide the students and staff of Hogwarts with food.

Transfiguration is a very complex branch of magic, in which many Hogwarts students struggle in. Professor McGonagall is extremely talented in transfiguration, and reveals the secrets of this subject to her students by giving interesting lectures, and allowing students to have a practical session.

| Arithmancy Classroom
Very few Hogwarts students take this complicated course. Those who take arithmancy consider themselves intelligent, and are willing to learn and take on the challenge of this complex study. Arithmancy is often considered boring, except by Hermione, who greatly enjoys this subject! Some of the work includes studying the magical art of numbers and equations, and very complicated number charts.

| The Lawn and Lake
This is the lawn and lake. It can be so beautiful and peaceful here. During spring you can see the flowers blooming, birds singing, people hanging out. During winter it is amazing you can see the snowcapped hills, have snow ball fights with your friends, etc. The Lawn is so quite and peaceful you might see a butterfly pass by through a garden of flowers.

| Hogsmeade
Hogsmeade is the only entirely wizarding village in Britain. It's a picturesque village of little thatched cottages and shops. During the holiday season, enchanted candles hang in the trees. Hogwarts is located quite near the village; a road runs around the school grounds to Hogsmeade Station, where the Hogwarts Express stops to disembark the students at the start of term. According to tradition, Hogsmeade was founded about the same time as Hogwarts by Hengist of Woodcroft, who was fleeing persecution by Muggles
